Cookies, Pixels &
The Choices You Control
This page explains, in plain English, every cookie and tracking technology Audio Imperial uses on audioimperial.com—what each one does, who sets it, how long it stays on your device, and exactly how to turn off anything that isn’t required to run the store.
What This Policy Covers, and What It Doesn’t
Audioimperial.com is operated by NMG Express LLC, trading as Audio Imperial (“Audio Imperial,” “we,” “us”). This Cookie Policy explains the cookies, pixels, and similar browser-storage technologies our store uses—separately from our broader Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle your personal information generally. Think of this page as the answer to one specific question: “what is actually running in my browser when I visit this site, and why?”
Audio Imperial ships physical orders only within the United States, and this policy is written around U.S. federal and state privacy law rather than the EU’s cookie-consent framework. If you’re visiting from outside the U.S., the same controls below still apply to you, but our legal references are U.S.-specific.
We’ve tried to avoid the two most common cookie-policy failures: copying boilerplate that doesn’t describe what a site actually does, and burying the controls so deep nobody finds them. The preference panel further down this page lets you turn optional cookies on or off in about ten seconds.
“If a cookie isn’t needed to run your cart, process your order, or keep our store secure, you get to decide whether it runs at all.”
Cookies, Pixels, and Local Storage—What They Actually Are
A “cookie” is the catch-all term most people use, but our store actually relies on a few related technologies. Here’s what each one means in the context of shopping on Audio Imperial.
Cookies
Small text files your browser stores when you visit audioimperial.com. A cookie is how the site remembers, for example, what’s already sitting in your cart when you move from a product page to checkout.
Pixels & Web Beacons
Tiny, often invisible snippets of code (for example, on an order confirmation page) that report back to a third party that an event happened—like “this visitor completed a purchase.”
Local & Session Storage
Similar to a cookie but stored differently in your browser. We use this for the Compare Products tool, so the items you select stay selected as you browse between product pages.
Session Cookies
Automatically deleted the moment you close your browser. We use these for short-lived tasks, like keeping your checkout secure for the duration of a single visit.
Persistent Cookies
Remain on your device for a set period—anywhere from about 30 minutes to roughly two years, depending on the cookie—until they expire or you delete them.
First-Party vs. Third-Party
First-party cookies are set by audioimperial.com or our hosting platform, Shopify. Third-party cookies are set by an outside company—an analytics or advertising partner—whose code we’ve added to the site.
Manage Your Cookie Preferences
Essential cookies are required to operate the store and can’t be turned off. Everything below is entirely your choice—switch any category on or off, then select Save.
Essential
Runs your shopping cart, checkout, login, fraud prevention, and load balancing. There’s no version of online checkout that works without these.
Always ActiveFunctional
Remembers things like your preferred currency, your selections in the Compare Products tool, and whether you’ve already dismissed an on-site notice.
OptionalAnalytics & Performance
Helps us understand which pages, categories, and products customers actually use, so we know what’s working. Includes tools such as Google Analytics, when active on our store.
OptionalAdvertising & Marketing
Used for things like remarketing ads that remind you about a turntable or amplifier you viewed, and for measuring whether our ads led to a sale. Includes tools such as Google Ads remarketing and the Meta Pixel, when active.
OptionalThis panel works together with Shopify’s built-in cookie-consent tools and, where available, automatically detects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal broadcast by supported browsers and extensions. See “Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control” below for details, or learn more about GPC at globalprivacycontrol.org.
Every Cookie Category, Named and Explained
Below is the specific breakdown of what runs on audioimperial.com, organized by category, with who sets it and roughly how long it sticks around.
Payment Methods, and the Cookies They Bring With Them
When you check out, Shopify and whichever payment method you choose set their own essential cookies and tokens to complete and secure the transaction. These are separate from anything Audio Imperial sets directly, and are governed by each provider’s own privacy policy.
Cookies set during payment exist to authenticate the transaction and prevent fraud—they’re strictly necessary and can’t be disabled without breaking checkout. For specifics, see PayPal’s Privacy Statement, Apple’s Privacy Policy (Apple Pay), or Google’s Privacy Policy (Google Pay). Venmo transactions are processed under PayPal’s policy. Shop Pay and core card processing run under Shopify’s own privacy terms.
Browser & Device-Level Controls
Our preference panel above only covers audioimperial.com. These tools work across every site you visit.
Your Browser Settings
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all let you block, delete, or get warned about cookies from their privacy settings menu.
Chrome → Firefox →Safari → Edge →
Mobile Devices
iOS Safari and Android Chrome have the same cookie controls, found inside your phone’s Settings app under that browser’s privacy section.
Opt Out of Ad Networks Directly
Industry-wide tools let you opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at once, not just ours.
DAA WebChoices → NAI Opt-Out →Google & Meta Ad Settings
Adjust or turn off interest-based ads directly within Google or Meta’s own controls, plus a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics everywhere.
Google Ads Settings → GA Opt-Out Add-On →“Do Not Track” vs. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
These sound similar but work very differently, and U.S. law treats them differently too.
“Do Not Track” (DNT) is an older browser header that never became an enforced industry standard—there’s no common, agreed-upon definition of what a website is supposed to do when it receives one. Like the large majority of U.S. retailers, Audio Imperial currently does not change its behavior based on a browser’s Do Not Track signal, because no consistent standard exists for us to follow.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is different: it’s a newer, more specific signal that California, Colorado, Connecticut, and a growing number of other states recognize as a valid way to register a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising.
What We Do With a GPC Signal: When our systems detect a GPC signal from your browser or a browser extension, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and targeted advertising for that visit. The Analytics and Advertising toggles in the preference panel above default to off accordingly, and you remain free to turn either one back on if you’d like. Learn more about the signal itself at globalprivacycontrol.org.
What U.S. Privacy Law Gives You
A majority of U.S. states now have comprehensive consumer privacy laws that specifically cover cookies and similar tracking technology—including California’s CCPA/CPRA, Virginia’s VCDPA, Colorado’s CPA, Connecticut’s CTDPA, and Utah’s UCPA, with a growing list of other states (among them Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, New Jersey, and Florida) enacting similar protections. The rights below are drawn from that body of law.
Rights You May Have
| Know / Access | Ask what cookie-derived data we hold that’s tied to you, and why we use it. |
| Delete | Ask us to delete data tied to your cookie identifiers, subject to legal exceptions like order and fraud records. |
| Correct | Ask us to fix inaccurate information we hold about you. |
| Opt Out of Sale / Share / Targeted Ads | Turn off the Advertising & Marketing toggle above, or contact us directly. |
| Non-Discrimination | We won’t charge you more or give you a worse experience for exercising any of these rights. |
| Appeal | If we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider; most state laws also let you escalate to your state Attorney General. |
How to Exercise Them
Email support@audioimperial.com or call +1 888-865-1086 with your request. We may need to verify your identity before processing it, and you may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, consistent with our Privacy Policy. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
On Thresholds: Several state privacy laws only apply in full to businesses above certain revenue or data-volume thresholds. Audio Imperial may fall below those thresholds in one or more states. As a matter of store policy, we honor the choices made in the preference panel above for every visitor, regardless of where you’re located in the United States.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA): Audio Imperial is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information or serve targeted advertising to anyone we know to be under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
When, and How, We Update This Policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect new tools, new legal requirements, or changes to how our store operates. Whenever we do, we update the “Effective & Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your choices—for example, adding a new advertising partner—we’ll highlight that change on this page. We encourage you to check back here periodically, especially if you have specific privacy preferences.
Who Publishes This Page, and Where to Read More
This Cookie Policy is written to align with the FTC Act’s (15 U.S.C. § 45) prohibition on unfair or deceptive practices and applicable Florida consumer protection statutes (Chapter 501, Florida Statutes). It works alongside—and does not replace—our other store policies.
