How We Display Availability on Every Product Page

Every listing on audioimperial.com shows a real-time availability statement — for example, "13 in stock, ready to be shipped" — pulled directly from our live inventory count. Here is exactly what each possible status means and how it affects your order.

In Stock

Ready to Ship

The exact quantity shown is physically available at the time of your visit. Orders for in-stock items are prepared and shipped within 2–3 business days, as confirmed on the product page and our Shipping Policy.

Backordered

Confirmed Restock, Not Yet Arrived

Used only when we have a confirmed restock date from our distributor. The listing and your order confirmation will say "Backordered" and state the estimated ship window. You may cancel for a full refund at any time before it ships.

Out of Stock

Currently Unavailable

When on-hand inventory reaches zero and no confirmed restock date exists, the listing is marked "Out of Stock" and the item cannot be added to cart. Contact us and we'll let you know if and when it's expected back.

Current Catalog Status: As of the Last Updated date above, every product listed on audioimperial.com is in stock and ready to ship within our standard 2–3 business day processing window. The scenarios described on this page govern what happens if that ever changes for a specific item before your order ships.

What Happens If We Can't Ship Your Item As Expected

Because inventory can change in the short window between when an order is placed and when it is prepared for shipment, here is precisely what we do if the item you ordered turns out to be unavailable.

1

We Notify You Promptly

If an item becomes unavailable after your order is placed, we will email you no later than 2 business days after your order date — and always before anything ships — explaining the situation and your options.

2

You Choose How to Proceed

You may: (a) wait for the item with a confirmed restock date, (b) switch to a different in-stock product — we refund the difference or invoice the balance, or (c) cancel the affected item for a full and immediate refund.

3

No Restock Date? You Decide.

If we cannot provide a confirmed restock date, we will say so plainly. You are never required to wait indefinitely — you may cancel for a full refund at any time the delay remains unconfirmed.

4

Refunds Are Processed Without Delay

Once a cancellation is confirmed, your refund is issued to your original payment method, typically within 1–2 business days, plus your bank's standard posting time.

Payment Timing Note: Our checkout charges your payment method when the order is placed, consistent with standard online retail practice, even for items later found to be out of stock or placed on backorder. If that happens, you are notified immediately and may cancel for a full refund — you are never left paying for an item we cannot deliver on the agreed terms.

The FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Rule

Online retailers in the United States, including Audio Imperial, are governed by the Federal Trade Commission's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 435), often called the "30-Day Rule." It exists specifically to protect you from open-ended shipping delays.

In plain terms: when we state a shipping timeframe at checkout (our standard is 2–3 business days for in-stock items), we must have a reasonable basis for that estimate. If no specific date is given, federal law presumes we will ship within 30 days. If we cannot meet whichever date applies, the law requires us to seek your consent to the delay or offer you a prompt, full refund — we cannot simply hold your money and your order indefinitely.

In Practice, at Audio Imperial

If we cannot ship your order within the disclosed timeframe, you will always be offered a clear choice: consent to a new, specific ship date, or cancel for a full and prompt refund. Silence is never treated as consent to an indefinite delay.

Reasonable Basis RequiredAny shipping estimate we give must be based on real, current inventory and carrier data — never a guess.
30 Days Is the Legal DefaultIf we don't give you a specific date, the law treats 30 days as the maximum before you gain refund rights.
Consent or RefundAn unmet ship date always triggers a choice for you — agree to the new date, or cancel and get your money back.
Indefinite Delay = Automatic Refund RightIf we can't give you any specific new date, you may cancel and be refunded without having to ask twice.
Situation What the Law Requires What We Do
Order ships on time No notice required Tracking emailed automatically once shipped
Short delay, new date confirmed Notify you, obtain consent or offer refund Email with the new date and a one-click cancel option
Delay beyond 30 days, no date set Must offer immediate, full refund Automatic refund offer sent without waiting for you to ask
You decline to wait Prompt refund (typically 7 business days under the Rule) We aim for 1–2 business days, faster than the legal minimum

Why a Backorder Can Happen With Hi-Fi Equipment

Audio Imperial does not manufacture any of the products we sell. Understanding where our inventory comes from explains why a delay can occasionally happen, and why we're upfront about it rather than guessing.

International Manufacturer Sourcing

Brands like Audiolab, Cyrus, Mission, and Q Acoustics are designed and built in the United Kingdom; Dual Electronics and Violectric are German manufacturers. Cross-border production and freight schedules occasionally shift.

Authorized Distribution Only

We source exclusively through authorized brand distribution channels — never grey-market substitutes — to guarantee authenticity and full manufacturer warranty coverage, even if that occasionally means a short wait.

Real-Time Inventory Sync

Our product pages reflect live, on-hand quantities. The rare timing gap this policy addresses is the few minutes between two near-simultaneous orders for the last unit of a popular item, not routine overselling.
