This page explains, in plain language, every payment method Audio Imperial accepts, exactly how our Shop Pay Installments financing program works, who actually extends that credit, what it costs, and what happens to a payment plan if you return or cancel an order.
How Payment & Financing Work At Audio Imperial
Buying a serious piece of hi-fi equipment is a real decision, and how you pay for it should be just as straightforward as the product itself. Audio Imperial, operated by NMG Express LLC, processes every transaction through Shopify’s secure commerce platform. We do not store your full card number on our servers, and we never add a surcharge for choosing one payment method over another.
When you choose to pay over time at checkout, that financing is provided through Shop Pay Installments, offered in partnership with Affirm, Inc. and its lending bank partners. Audio Imperial is the retailer in that transaction — we are not the lender. Affirm decides eligibility, sets the interest rate, and services the loan; we simply make the option available to you at checkout.
This page walks through accepted payment methods, how checkout pricing works, the full financing program, how refunds and cancellations interact with a payment plan, and how your payment information is protected, so you can see the whole picture before you place an order, not after.

Every Major Payment Method, Accepted Securely
At checkout, you can pay in full using any of the methods below, or split your purchase into a payment plan through Shop Pay Installments. All transactions are processed in U.S. Dollars (USD) only — we do not currently support any other currency or international billing address.
Pay In Full
Use any credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or Shop Pay to pay your full order total in one transaction at checkout.
Pay Over Time
Select Shop Pay Installments at checkout to split your order into a payment plan through Affirm, where eligible. See the Financing Program section below for full details.
When You’re Charged
Your selected payment method is authorized when you place your order. If a payment is declined, no order is created and you are not charged — you’ll see this immediately at checkout.
Order Confirmation
A confirmation email is sent automatically after a successful payment, summarizing exactly what you were charged and which method you used.

USD Only, Always
Every price on audioimperial.com is listed and charged in U.S. Dollars. We do not support other currencies or international billing addresses at this time.
Sales Tax, Calculated Up Front
Applicable sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address, in compliance with state and local law, and added to your total before you submit payment — never afterward.
Free Shipping, No Minimum
Shipping is complimentary on every order shipped within the contiguous United States, as described in our Shipping Policy. No order minimum applies, and no shipping line item appears at checkout for domestic orders.
No Checkout Surcharges
We do not charge an extra fee, surcharge, or “convenience charge” for choosing any particular payment method, including Shop Pay Installments. The price you see is the price you’re offered to pay.
Promotions & Discounts
Any discount code or promotional price is applied at checkout and reflected in your order total before you confirm payment. Promotions cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.
Errors & Corrections
If a pricing or tax error is identified before your order is accepted, we will contact you using the email or phone number on file before any change is made, consistent with our Terms of Service.
Shop Pay Installments, Powered By Affirm
High-end audio is a long-term investment, and we want financing it to be just as clear as buying it outright. Here is exactly who provides this financing, what it costs, who qualifies, and what Audio Imperial does and does not control.
We do not make credit decisions, set interest rates, or service any financing plan. Your financing agreement is a separate contract between you and Affirm, Inc. (or another disclosed third-party provider), governed entirely by that provider’s own terms — not by Audio Imperial’s Terms of Service.
Plan Types Offered
Pay In 4 (Interest-Free)
Split your order into 4 equal payments, billed automatically every two weeks, with 0% interest and no separate finance charge for eligible customers and orders.
Monthly Installments
Choose a 3, 6, or 12-month plan with a fixed Annual Percentage Rate between 0% and 36%, set by Affirm based on your creditworthiness and the offer you select.
Eligible Order Amounts
As of this update, Shop Pay Installments is generally available for orders between $35 and $30,000 USD, inclusive of shipping and tax. This range is set by Affirm, can change, and is confirmed in real time at checkout.
For example, a $1,199.00 order — the price of our Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier — could be split into 4 interest-free payments of $299.75 every two weeks (before any applicable sales tax), or into a monthly plan with a fixed APR between 0% and 36% based on your creditworthiness.
This example is for illustration only. Your actual available plans, payment amounts, down payment (if any), and rate are calculated by Affirm in real time and shown to you in full, in writing, before you accept any offer.
Eligibility Requirements
- Age & location: You must be at least 18 years old (the age of majority in your state), with a valid U.S. billing address and a U.S. shipping address for the order.
- Eligibility check: You must complete Affirm’s eligibility check at checkout and have, or create, a Shop Pay account. This check is performed solely by Affirm.
- Down payment: Depending on your order amount and the plan you’re offered, a down payment may be required at checkout before the remaining balance is split into installments.
- Card restrictions: Certain card issuers, prepaid cards, or virtual currency (including gift cards) may not be eligible for every installment plan, as determined by Affirm; monthly plans are generally limited to debit cards.
- One plan per order: The installment plan type cannot be changed once your checkout is complete.
Costs, Fees & Credit Checks
- Interest: Pay in 4 plans carry 0% interest for eligible orders. Monthly plans carry a fixed APR between 0% and 36%, disclosed to you and confirmed by your acceptance before any loan is created.
- No hidden fees: Other than the disclosed interest charge, Affirm states that Shop Pay Installments carries no additional account fees, origination fees, or late fees, and no penalty for paying off a plan early. These terms are set by Affirm and can change — current terms are always shown in full before you accept.
- Who decides approval: Each offer is the product of a real-time eligibility check performed solely by Affirm. Audio Imperial does not perform this check, does not see your credit file, and has no role in approving or declining your application.
- Credit reporting: Depending on the plan you choose, Affirm may report your account activity to consumer reporting agencies such as Experian or TransUnion. Shorter Pay in 4 plans are typically not reported when paid on time; longer monthly installment loans are more likely to be. Missed or late payments can still affect your credit either way.
- Other providers: From time to time, we may also offer financing through other reputable third-party providers in addition to Shop Pay Installments. Any such option will be clearly identified at checkout, together with its own provider-specific terms, before you select it.
How Returns Affect A Financed Order
Returning or cancelling an order doesn’t work quite the same way when you’ve financed it. Here’s exactly what happens, step by step, consistent with our Refund Policy.
Your Return Is Approved As Normal
Returns follow our standard Refund Policy: reported within 30 days of delivery, item unused and in original packaging, with a 15% restocking fee for change-of-mind returns (waived for damaged, defective, or incorrect items). Orders may be cancelled free of charge within 12 hours of purchase.
The Refund Routes Through Affirm
If your order was paid using Shop Pay Installments, Audio Imperial issues the approved refund amount back through Affirm rather than directly to a card, since Affirm holds your loan.
Your Balance Is Adjusted
Affirm applies the refunded amount to your outstanding loan balance and cancels or reduces your remaining scheduled payments accordingly. Any amount you’ve already paid that exceeds your adjusted balance is refunded to you directly by Affirm.
Timing Can Vary Slightly
This step is handled by Affirm and can take a few additional business days beyond the timelines in our Refund Policy. If a scheduled payment is collected before Affirm finishes processing, your balance will be corrected once the refund is fully applied.

Your Payment Data, Protected At Every Step
Whether you pay in full or choose a financing plan, the information you provide at checkout is handled with the same level of care.
256-bit SSL Encryption
Every page that collects payment information uses TLS/SSL encryption, recognizable by the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.
PCI DSS-Compliant Infrastructure
Checkout runs on Shopify’s PCI DSS-certified payment infrastructure, with card payments processed via Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
We Don’t Sell Your Data
Checkout information is used only to process your order and is shared only with our payment processor, shipping carrier, and Affirm (only if you choose financing) as needed to complete your transaction.
Your Financing Data Is Separate
Information you submit for an Affirm eligibility check goes directly to Affirm and is governed entirely by Affirm’s own Privacy Policy, separate from ours.
